I’ve got to clean the house. A couple of generations ago this was extremely hard work. The woman of the house expected to spend all her time devoted to looking after the home and family. You needed good muscles to take the rugs out and give them a beating. It was down on hands and knees to scrub the floors.
We don’t expect to do this anymore. In any case we wouldn’t have the time because most women have careers. Keeping the various household chores under control is now a partnership. Luckily technology has provided us with the equipment necessary to speed up the jobs we do in the home.
