Daily Cleaning Tips

I’ve got to clean the house. A couple of generations ago this was extremely hard work. The woman of the house expected to spend all her time devoted to looking after the home and family. You needed good muscles to take the rugs out and give them a beating. It was down on hands and knees to scrub the floors.

We don’t expect to do this anymore. In any case we wouldn’t have the time because most women have careers. Keeping the various household chores under control is now a partnership. Luckily technology has provided us with the equipment necessary to speed up the jobs we do in the home.

A clean, hygienic home is what everyone wants but without too much effort. We all want a home that is welcoming. Somewhere that we can immediately relax after a hard day’s work. A place where we can invite friends and know that they will be happy to come.

The best way to do the daily clean is to have a plan so that you can cut down the time and stress.

Start with the living room. Pick up all those newspapers, put any rubbish in the bin and place ready to take out. Remove any crumbs and so on. Shake out throws and replace, Plump up cushions. Wipe over table tops and so on with furniture wipes.

Move on to the bathroom. Wipe around wash basin and bath. Spray shower cabinet and tiles. Wipe mirror and taps for a quick sparkle. A quick brush around the toilet bowl and wipe the seat.

Bedrooms should be done by the occupant on rising. Straighten the sheets and pillows. Fluff up the duvet and fold this back to expose most of the bed. This will give the bed a good airing and combat any bugs. Remove any drinking glasses and rubbish when you leave.

The kitchen is best left until last because it is probably where you will leave from and you, of course, you have probably brought all the bits and pieces from elsewhere here on its way to the disposal. Always make sure that you have a bright and shiny sink and washed down counters. Put things away or put them in the dishwasher. When you return you will feel that you can get on with anything that is necessary instead of thinking that you must first start cleaning a space in the kitchen.

If you stick to your daily routine then you can tackle the bigger tasks at the weekend with much more ease. Don’t leave things until your housework becomes a challenge.
